Lead Safety
Older, more established communities are more at risk than others, since lead is often found in peeling and chipping paint and dust located in houses and apartments built before 1978. The risk to our young children is much greater because of the probability of them putting things in their mouths. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that approximately 1 in 22 children in America have high levels of lead in their blood.
