Nutley Update on COVID-19

The Township of Nutley is providing an update to the community on several important matters, including:

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Nutley
  • Face coverings required outdoors
  • Updated Quarantine Advisory
  • Other updates

COVID-19 Total Cases
The Township of Nutley announced 7 additional known COVID-19 cases since the last alert on July 1st bringing the total to 525 cases and 36 deaths.

Face Coverings Now Required Outdoors
Governor Murphy today announced that face coverings are required in outdoor public spaces when social distancing is not practicable. There are exceptions for individuals under 2 years old, eating/drinking at an outdoor dining establishment, and when wearing a mask would inhibit health or safety.

Updated Quarantine Advisory Issued for Individuals Traveling to New Jersey
On Tuesday, Governor Murphy updated the travel advisory to includes three additional states, Delaware, Kansas, and Oklahoma, bringing the total to 19 states. As of Tuesday, July 7, the states under a travel advisory are: Alabama; Arkansas; Arizona; California; Delaware, Florida; Georgia; Iowa; Idaho; Kansas; Louisiana; Oklahoma, Mississippi; North Carolina; Nevada; South Carolina; Tennessee; Texas; and Utah.

Individuals traveling to New Jersey from these states with significant community spread of COVID-19 are advised to quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of last contact within the identified state. The travel advisory applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average.
