DeMuro Track Guidelines

nEfforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 have included the closures of many parks and public gathering areas around the state. Under these various government orders, the scope of where you can go and what you can do is changing.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, for example, now recommends that people wear non-medical face masks or face coverings in public.  DeMuro Track has been permitted to remain open at this time.

Whether it’s your sidewalk or a township track, walking remains an excellent option to break up a long day at home as long as you continue to practice social distancing.  The suggested distance is 6 feet but when at all possible the further apart the better.

Our administration has responded to numerous reports that have been made regarding larger numbers of residents than permitted walking/exercising at DeMuro Track located on Margaret Avenue, despite the signage posted regarding social distancing.  In the best interest of our community, if these calls persist we will be forced to close the track indefinitely and ask that residents find alternate places to exercise.  Please abide by the rules and help us keep our residents safe.  Parks and Recreation Department personnel will be monitoring the area moving forward.
