NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids for the Township of Nutley Fire Department Dormitory Renovations, for the Township of Nutley (Township or Owner) in the TOWNSHIP OF NUTLEY, ESSEX COUNTY, NEW JERSEY will be received at the Municipal Clerk’s Office, Town Hall,
1 Kennedy Drive, Nutley, NJ 07110, on July 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM
prevailing time.
Fire Department Dormitory Renovations
The project consists of interior alterations to the Township of Nutley Fire Department, 228 Chestnut Street, Nutley, existing dormitory area which will create a new hallway to separate the area from the garage. Repairs and patchwork will be done to immediate surrounding areas of work. Electrical and HVAC work shall also be done as a part of the contract. Work as outlined above and to include all work as outlined in the Bid Documents, Specifications and accompanying drawings.
Plans and Specifications have been filed at the Purchasing Department of the Township of Nutley and may be inspected by prospective bidders at that office during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm) on or after Friday, June 5th, 2026. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the Contract Documents, Plans, and Specifications at the Purchasing Department at their offices at 1 Kennedy Drive, Nutley, NJ 07110, on proper notice. A non-refundable charge of $50.00 per set shall be paid to the Township of Nutley. Bids shall be delivered and submitted to the Clerk during normal business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm).
Bidders are notified that they must comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963, as amended) and that award will not be made to any bidder whom the Commissioner of Labor and Industry does not certify.
A site walk through is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, at 10 AM at 228 Chestnut Street, Nutley, NJ. The site walk-through is non-mandatory.
Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided, in the manner designated therein and required by the Specifications. Bidders must submit one (1) original bid package and three (3) copies. They must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Municipal Clerk c/o Township of Nutley “Township of Nutley Fire Department Dormitory Renovations” and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the form provided of not less than 10% of the amount of bid. Said check or bid bond may not be less than $500 nor shall it be more than $20,000 and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety statement in the form provided from a Surety Company stating that the Surety Company will provide the bidder with a bond for 100% of the Contract amount in the event that the Contract is awarded to the bidder.
Accordingly, the contractor must abide by the provisions of the Federal Labor Standards which are included as a part of the conditions of the contract.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of NJSA 10:5-31 et seq. and NJAC 17:27 for an affirmative action program for equal employment opportunity.
If awarded a contract, your company/firm will be required to comply with the requirements of NJSA 10:5-31 et seq. and NJAC 17:27.
Bidders must also comply with the requirements of P.L. 1977, Chapter 33 amending the Local Public Contracts Law. Bidders must submit a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all the stockholders in the corporation or members of the partnership who own ten percent (10%) or more of its stock or have a ten percent (10%) or greater interest in the case of partnership.
No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the opening of bids. A Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, or all proposals will be rejected within sixty (60) days after the opening of bids.
The Township of Nutley reserves the right to reject all bids, to reject unbalanced bids, and to waive any informality in any bid.
