Michael “MAC” Cumella will do a live broadcast of his radio program, The Antique Phonograph Music Program, from the Kingsland Manor on Tuesday, April 26th as a benefit to the fundraising activities of the Historic Restoration Trust of Nutley. Michael Cumella, a native of Nutley, broadcasts a weekly radio show playing old 78 records and cylinders of the golden age of Jazz on WFMU each Tuesday from 8 until 9. The Kingsland Manor is on the corner of Kingsland Street and Lakeside Drive. The public is welcome to attend the broadcast. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and will go until 9 p.m. with MAC giving an informal lecture on the music of that era. Admission will be by donation and light refreshments will be served. The Flemington Neshanock Base Ball Club plays by 19th Century rules, uses authentic replicas of 19th Century equipment and wears 19th Century uniforms. Today’s Neshanock were re-established in 2001 by Brad “Brooklyn” Shaw, proudly reviving the original name of the team.
The Nutley Colonels Club was a semi-professional base ball team that played for many years and was managed by a local All-State baseball star, Anthony J. San Giacomo, just before the club disbanded.
