Diversion Burglary and Stolen Vehicles - April 9, 2018

DIVERSION BURGLARY
Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo are advising that two suspicious actors rang the bell of a Grant Ave resident and offered to repair sidewalk. One person identified as a Hispanic Male approximately 20 years of age was permitted to enter and distracted resident, while second actor entered and stole undisclosed amount of money from victim’s handbag. Second actor was described as Hispanic with short-cropped hair with some gray. Both entered a Bright Red Pick Up Truck and Fled West on Grant Ave at approx. 3:00 this afternoon.

STOLEN VEHICLES
Additionally, we have had two vehicles stolen this past week, both vehicles were left unattended and running. On Ridge Rd., and Passaic Ave 7/11. One arrest has been made and one vehicle recovered. This is a reminder that anyone leaving a vehicle idling unattended may be summoned, or possibly stolen. Also remember lock doors, secure valuables and do not ever leave key fob in vehicle when unattended.
