Nutley Police Alert - 12-14-17
Package Thefts

Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo advise that on Thursday December 14th Police responded to several incidents in which residents reported empty packages on their doorstep.

It was determined that the suspect is stealing packages from various locations including Jamie Ct in Bloomfield, Harrison and Ravine Ave in Nutley during the day, removing the contents and delivering empty boxes to the next victims home, as if they were delivering for a company.

Chief Strumolo is urging residents to be aware of this type of crime and make efforts to schedule deliveries to your home only when you are there to receive it. When expecting a delivery, monitor the tracking feature and be available for receipt.

Take notice to any suspicious delivery person or vehicle, document license plates and physical descriptions.

If you have a neighbor that can secure your package in your absence, please arrange.

Nutley Police are working with neighboring jurisdictions who are experiencing similar incidents.

Please don't hesitate to contact police to check any suspicious person. 973-284-4940 or call 911.
