The Township of Nutley Board of Commissioners has designated October 18–24, 2026, as Friends of Libraries Week, recognizing the dedicated volunteers of the Friends of the Nutley Public Library for their essential support of community learning and cultural programs through a proclamation presented at the October 6th BOC meeting.
Through ongoing fundraising and advocacy, the Friends of the Nutley Public Library help fund special community events, children’s summer reading initiatives, modern equipment, and expanded public programming.
The Board of Commissioners highlighted the library as a vital community cornerstone that provides residents of all ages with access to print and digital resources, research assistance, reading recommendations, and youth services.
The proclamation commends the Friends for their civic leadership and commitment to ensuring the library remains vibrant, accessible, and well-equipped to serve the evolving needs of the Nutley community.
The Township encourages residents to support the Nutley Public Library by becoming a member of the Friends of the Library, attending upcoming library events, and thanking volunteers for their service.
