The Township of Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation, under the direction of Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci, is pleased to announce that registration is now open for several Fall 2026 recreation sports clinics and lessons for Nutley residents.
Whether you're looking to try a new sport, sharpen your skills, or get active this fall, there is something for a variety of ages and abilities.
Little Pickles - Pickleball Lessons (Grades K-3)
Little Pickles introduces young players to the basics of pickleball through fun games and activities
while building coordination, confidence, and new skills. No experience is necessary.
Dates: Tuesdays, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Duration: 5 Weeks - September 15 – October 13
Location: Pickleball Courts at Msgr. Owens Park
Fee: $135 per participant
Pickleball Lessons (Ages 16 through Adult)
Beginner lessons focus on fundamentals including grip, dinking, and basic rules, while
intermediate players will work on volleys, third-shot drops, court positioning, and strategy.
Dates: Tuesdays
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (Beginner)
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Intermediate)
Duration: 5 weeks - September 15 – October 13
Location: Pickleball Courts at Msgr. Owens Park
Fee: $155 per participant
Fall Tennis Lessons (Grades 1 through Adult)
Directed under the supervision of Barry Rubach, an accredited member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Association and former
Collegiate Champion, the program teaches participants the fundamentals of tennis while promoting fitness and fun.
Participants should bring a tennis racket, sneakers, water bottle, and comfortable clothing.
Dates: Fridays
Grades 1–2: 4:00 – 5:00 PM
Grades 3–4: 5:00 – 6:00 PM
Grades 5–8: 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Grade 9–Adult: 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Duration: 5 weeks September 11 – October 9
Location: Msgr. Owens Tennis Courts
Fee: $90 per participant
Adaptive Soccer Clinic with TJD Sports Academy
A specialized clinic for individuals with special needs
This fun and inclusive clinic focuses on soccer skills, coordination, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive, judgment-free
environment. Activities are tailored to each participant's unique abilities.
Dates: Mondays
Ages 6–13: 5:00 – 6:00 PM
Ages 14+: 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Duration: 5 weeks - September 14 – October 19
Location: Father Glotzbach Park, Field #2
Fee: $100 per participant
