Mayor John V. Kelly III and the Nutley Board of Commissioners are excited to share the new date for our America 250 July 4th Fireworks celebration! The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 19, starting at 6:00 pm, and will be part of the Township’s Constitution Day festivities. Nutley has played an important role in our nation’s story, and we can’t wait to celebrate that history together with our community.

“As in previous years, Nutley will be the destination to celebrate our nation's historic 250th birthday! We are looking forward to continuing our time-honored tradition of celebrating our nation's birth with family-friendly entertainment, food, and of course, fireworks!” commented Mayor Kelly.

Franklin Avenue will be filled with food vendors, and MCDJ will keep the party going with music and games. Kids and families can enjoy face painting, magicians and balloon artists throughout the evening. Fireworks will light up the sky at dusk.

The original fireworks event had to be canceled due to the severe storm on July 3, which caused significant damage around town. Resident and visitor safety always comes first, and the Township needed to make sure police and EMS were available to handle emergencies and support hard-hit areas.

TRAFFIC ALERT: On September 19, Franklin Avenue will be closed between Church St. to Chestnut St. and down Chestnut to Vincent Place. Closures will begin at 3:30 pm and will not reopen until cleanup is finished. Please use caution while traveling in this area.
