Finance Commissioner Thomas J. Evans has announced that property tax bills for 2026 will be mailed on or about August 6, 2026.

“Today the Township received the certification of the tax rate from Essex County,” the Commissioner says. “Although the due date is set for August 1st, the grace period has been extended to August 31st.”

After the State adopted their budget on June 30, Essex County Board of Taxation was able to begin certifying 2026 tax rates. This has resulted in a delay.

The Commissioner added that during this grace period, no interest or late fees will be applied. However, these charges will take effect after this period.
