Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci Announces Fall 2026 Recreation Sports

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Department of Parks and Recreation are happy to announce registration is now open for an exciting season of fall youth sports, offering children the opportunity to stay active, build skills, and have fun in a supportive environment. Families can choose from a variety of programs including soccer, flag football, and cross country, giving young athletes the chance to learn teamwork, develop confidence, and enjoy healthy competition. Stay tuned for additional fall sports opportunities, which will be announced and opened for registration in the coming weeks.

Fall sports provide so much more than athletic competition, they help our young residents build confidence, develop lifelong friendships, and learn the value of teamwork and perseverance," said Commissioner Tucci. "We are proud to offer a variety of programs that give children of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to stay active, have fun, and be part of a positive community experience. We encourage families to register early and join us for another exciting season of youth sports.

Recreation Cross Country Track Program

Cross Country is a great way for young athletes to build endurance, confidence, and healthy fitness habits while enjoying the outdoors. Participants will develop running skills, learn proper pacing techniques, and work toward personal goals in a supportive team environment.

Grades: 4-8
Location: Meets and practices at Kingsland Park
                 (Rutgers Pl. and Passaic Ave)
Fee: $85 per participant

Registration Dates: June 15 – August 13

Recreation Boys Flag Football

Boys Flag Football offers young athletes an exciting opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football in a fun, fast-paced, and non-contact environment. Players will develop passing, catching, running, and defensive skills while building teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence on the field. Open to all skill levels, this program emphasizes player development, healthy competition, and having fun with friends throughout the season.

Grades: 1-4
Fee: $65 per participant

Girls Flag Football

Girls Flag Football provides a fun and empowering opportunity for athletes to learn the game, build confidence, and compete in a fast-growing sport. Players will develop fundamental football skills including passing, catching, route running, and defense while fostering teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. 

Grades: 1-8
Fee: $65 per participant

Recreation Soccer

Recreation Soccer is designed to provide a fun, positive, and instructional experience for players of all skill levels. Participants will learn fundamental soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork, while building confidence and making new friends. With an emphasis on sportsmanship, player development, and enjoyment of the game, soccer is the perfect opportunity for young athletes to stay active and have fun throughout the Fall season.

Grades: K-8
Fee: $75 per participant/ $125 per family for 2 children
