The Nutley Fireworks are canceled.

Because there are residents still without power, the Township has opened a cooling center at the Recreation Building, 44 Park Avenue, Room 300.

Cleanup continues throughout the Township, and progress is being made. However, restoration and cleanup efforts will take time. We ask residents to please remain patient while crews continue their work, but most importantly, please stay safe by keeping cool and hydrated.

Due to this historic heat, severe storms are very possible again tonight. This means that anything that was weakened or almost came down during last night’s storm could fall tonight. Please take a look around your property and secure or remove anything that could cause a problem, if it is safe to do so.

Please continue to stay away from all downed wires and treat every wire as live and dangerous. For non-emergency storm-related concerns, contact the Nutley Police Department at 973-284-4940. Please remember that 911 is for emergencies only.
