Nutley’s June Events Celebrating our Nations 250th Anniversary
Mayor Kelly and the Nutley Department of Public Affairs and Health in participation with various Nutley Organizations are pleased to announce the following events throughout the month of June in recognition of the 250th Celebration of our Nation.
Wednesday, June 10th – Annie Oakley Documentary
Starts 6:30 pm – Nutley Museum 65 Church Street
Come celebrate the life of Nutley resident Annie Oakley with a special screening of a new documentary, North Star, at the Nutley Museum and Historical Society at 65 Church Street on Wednesday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m. Annie, who lived in Nutley for about a dozen years, died one hundred years ago this November.

Sunday, June 14th – Flag Day Ceremony & Flag Retirement Ceremony
10:30 am – 12 pm – Nutley Elks lodge 1290 242 Chestnut Street
Come be a part of Flag Day with us & The US Army’s 251st Birthday for a Flag Day Ceremony at the Nutley Elks Lodge immediately followed by a flag retirement ceremony at Vreeland Home at 226 Chestnut Street.

Saturday, June 20th – 250th Celebration Ruck March
Starts 9 am – Vreeland Homestead 226 Chestnut Street
Join us for a moderate paced 5K ruck march from the Vreeland Homestead through Memorial Park system to the Kingsland Manor and back to the Nutley Health Department where we will collect canned donations for the food pantry.

1-4 pm – Kingsland Manor 3 Kingsland Street Nutley
Kingsland Manor Historic House Tour the Manor will feature demonstrations of the exciting skills and food of the colonial period along with incredible insight into the history of both the home and the Township of Nutley.

Sunday, June 28th – History walk & Tour
9-10 am – Vreeland Homestead 226 Chestnut Street Nutley
Join us for a special historical tour of the Vreeland Homestead! Discover the rich history of the historic Vreeland Homestead and learn about its role in our community's past. Following the tour, enjoy a guided walk to Passaic Avenue as we explore the stories of the home, the people who lived there, and the businesses that once lined Chestnut Street.

Tuesday, June 30th – Nutley Little Theater “My Dearest Friend”
Starts 7 pm – NLT Barn 47 Erie Place Nutley
"My Dearest Friend" is a compilation of the letters of John and Abigail Adams from four eras of their lives -- from their courtship in 1762 to the end of Adams' Presidency in 1801. Choosing the highlights from one of the most complete records of marital correspondence in all of history, "My Dearest Friend" chronicles the course of the Adams' relationship with warmth and humor.
