Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Department of Parks and Recreation invite Nutley residents to join the Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation’s Kickoff Party to the Third Annual Festival of Hope!

The event will be held on Thursday, February 12, 6-8 PM at the Department of Parks and Recreation, 44 Park Ave.

The Kickoff Party is free and open to the public. The purpose of the evening is to bring our community together to raise awareness of the Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation and our mission to provide financial support to those who have been affected by cancer.

The doors will open at 6 pm with Rob Frannicola of Ultimate Entertainment providing music for the evening. Ralphs Pizzeria will be sponsoring dinner with the Nutley Shoprite supplying dessert.

The Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization, has seen an incredible outpouring of generosity from the community, sponsors, and donors since its inception. Through a range of initiatives, The Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation will continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of many, and are thrilled to share that we have been able to help 13 Nutley families with a total of $32,875 disbursed as well as more than $12,000 in monies donated for research.

“Through the generosity of the Nutley community, we reached our goal of giving funds to local cancer survivors and their family members. We were able to donate 20% of the proceeds raised to research, in hopes that we will see a cure for cancer in our lifetime. Our signature event, Festival of Hope will take place Friday, May 8, and has the potential to be one of our best fundraisers yet,” stated Commissioner Tucci.
