Finance Commissioner Thomas J. Evans has announced that there will be a delay in residents receiving their third quarter property tax bills this year.
“The Township is still waiting for certification of the tax rate from Essex County,” the Commissioner says. “Although the third quarter payment due date is set for August 1st, the grace period has been extended to August 30th.
After the State adopted their budget on June 30, Essex County Board of Taxation was able to begin certifying 2025 tax rates. This has resulted in a delay.
The Commissioner added that during this grace period, no interest or late fees will be applied. However, these charges will take effect after this period.
