High Street Roadway Project

Mayor Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli, would like to notify residents of an upcoming Essex County roadway project occurring in Nutley that may impact Township residents.  This notification is provided to inform residents of the upcoming work so that alternate routes can be planned if needed and to maintain a level of safety within the community.

Beginning on or about Wednesday December 20, 2023, and continuing through the end of year, Essex County’s general contractor, Smith-Sondy Asphalt Construction Company will be installing ADA ramps at all intersections on High Street between Bloomfield Avenue and West Passaic Avenue in Bloomfield.  It is our understanding that there will be minimal road closures and detours during this work.  Following completion of the ADA ramps and contingent on weather conditions, Essex County informs that the roadway will be resurfaced.

If you have questions regarding this project, please contact Essex County Engineering at (973) 226-8500 or Smith-Sondy Asphalt Construction Company at (973) 777-7833.
