Urgent Weather Advisory: Hazardous Conditions and Flood Watch

Dear Residents,

Please be advised of an important weather advisory from the National Weather Service for Sunday, December 17 through Monday, December 18, 2023

Hazardous Weather and Flood Watch: A Hazardous Weather and Flood Watch is in effect for our area from Sunday Afternoon, December 17 through Monday Afternoon, December 18. The forecast includes heavy rain (2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts) associated with a coastal storm, posing the potential for minor to moderate river and small stream flooding during this period.

Possible Impacts:

  • Excessive runoff may lead to flooding in rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas.
  • Creeks and streams may overflow their banks.
  • Minor flooding is expected in poor drainage and urban areas.

Safety Precautions: In light of these conditions, we strongly advise the following:

  • Avoid flooded roadways: Do not drive through flooded areas for your safety and the safety of others.
  • Stay clear of downed wires and trees: Keep a safe distance to prevent any accidents or injuries.
  • In the event of an emergency, dial 911: If you find yourself in a critical situation, please reach out to emergency services immediately.

Stay safe!
