NPD Arrest 2 Juveniles for Burglary and Theft After Foot Pursuit

Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo are announcing that two juveniles were apprehended early morning Saturday after committing a burglary and theft. 

Chief Strumolo stated that a vehicle was targeted on Elm St. and a short time later several other vehicles on Grant Ave. Two juveniles then opened the rear door of a Grant Ave residence, causing the alarm to sound were immediately confronted by the homeowner. The two fled East on Grant Ave and were apprehended by police after a foot pursuit near the Passaic River. “Police personnel were in the right place at the right time and did a great job catching them” Director Petracco, commended the police for the apprehension.

Earlier in the week, NPD apprehended and transported two juveniles to the detention center for breaking into cars on Yale and Franklin Avenue and now two more will be on their way. “We will not tolerate anyone committing crimes in this Town and we will continue arresting those who do. The Chief and I have added patrols and specialized detail to address these concerns and is paying off with near a dozen arrests in the past few weeks.
