Commissioner Tucci Opens Registration for "FUN FOR ALL" Integrated Recreation Program

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation will be offering a variety of weekly sporting programs for students with special needs, along with their siblings and non-disabled peers.

FUN FOR ALL is an adaptive recreation program offering a variety of seasonal sports and social activities on a weekly basis throughout the school year. Participation in the program will introduce your child to the tremendous benefits of sports where the focus is more on learning the basics, enjoying fitness, developing friendships and having FUN! Good sportsmanship and acceptingindividual differences and abilities is fostered throughout the sessions. High of reinforcement and recognition are provided to each player for their level of participation. Modifications are made as needed to enable all participants to play and enjoy the experience.

This program is geared towards the special needs of EACH individual. The goal is to offer seasonal sports and social activities in an integrated manner, where students with and without special needs come together to play and have fun. FUN FOR ALL is enhanced with the eager participation of volunteer peer buddies. The buddies are high school students learning to be effective facilitators and role models. They are actively involved in all aspects of the program.

FUN FOR ALL will be held in the Radcliffe School gymnasium beginning Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The program will run weekly throughout the school year with the exception of school closings and special BOE functions.
