Calling All Junior Entrepreneurs

During these sweltering, dog days of summer, there is nothing better than a refreshing, ice cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade! If you are interested in, or have already created, your own lemonade stand, why not learn from the experts to have the most successful and safest stand on the block! Whether you are using fresh lemons, or premade mixes, we’ve got you covered!

Commissioner John V. Kelly, Nutley Department of Public Affairs and Health, in partnership with Commissioner Tom Evans, Nutley Department of Revenue and Finance, are pleased to announce a new initiative for Nutley children in grades 4 through 8.  Enrollment is now open to attend Nutley’s first ever one day Lemonade Stand Workshop. Nutley’s Licensed Registered Environmental Health Specialist, Robert DeBello, Jr will advise participants on how to safely prepare food products to sell to the public and properly sanitize equipment and utensils, and John Ditinyak, Nutley Chief Financial Officer, will share tips on how to successfully navigate the financial end of owning your own Lemonade Stand.

The one hour event will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11:00am in the third floor chambers of the Nutley Town Hall, 1 Kennedy Drive. Space is limited, so sign up now! All participants will receive a Junior Food Handlers Certificate!
