Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Department of Parks and Public Property invite Nutley residents to the official kickoff of our 17th Annual Relay for Life Celebration. This year’s theme is “United in Hope”. The event will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, 6:30 pm at the Parks Department building, 44 Park Ave., Nutley, NJ.

The Kickoff Celebration is free and open to the public. The purpose of the evening is to bring our community together, create excitement surrounding the celebration and educate our residents as to what “Relay” is all about. The doors will open at 6:00 pm with Rob Frannicola of Ultimate Entertainment providing music for the evening. Pat Custode of Ralph's Pizzeria will be sponsoring dinner with Dunkin‘ of Washington Ave. supplying dessert.    

“As a community we have raised over $1,450,000.00 for the American Cancer Society. Our 17th Annual Relay is scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2023 and has the potential to be one of our best fundraising years ever” stated Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci.

“Relay for Life”, the American Cancer Society’s signature event is the worlds largest peer-to-peer fundraising event dedicated to saving lives from cancer. For over 35 years, communities across the world have come together to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change.  

Volunteers organize a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year to raise much needed funds to find a cure. We hope you can join us on May 19th at DeMuro Park as an individual or as a team.
