Commissioner Tucci Announces Fall Session for Art Workshop

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci announces Art Workshop registration is now available. “This exciting program enables children ranging from grades 1 through 6 the opportunity to flourish by stimulating their creative spirit” states Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci.  Throughout this program youngsters will explore and enjoy the positive impact art history has in their lives. Classes will be held on Saturdays beginning October, 22nd and will continue for 8 weeks at the Recreation Department located at 44 Park Ave.

Art can play an effective role in contributing to the intellectual, emotional and aesthetic life of children.  Miss Karen DeRose assists children in observing objects in a peculiar way and uniquely express their vision through their own art form.  Art has proven to keep children in school, provide motivation, and help children better understand the world in which they live in. Parents must be equipped with the tools to expose their children to the arts. The Nutley Recreation Art Class is the perfect component to motivate youngsters minds and allow them to explore paintings as an art historian would.

Please note that class size is limited and applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.  Applications may be submitted to the Recreation Office located at 44 Park Ave.   The goals of this department include continuing to provide top quality, affordable activities for all ages. Children excel through recreational activities.

The Registration Fee for this class is $50.00 per child.  Online registration is available at
