Nutley Board of Commissioners Encourage Humanitarian Aid For Ukraine

The Russian invasion on Ukraine has brought about devastating consequences for the country and its civilians. As the conflict continues to escalate, the Ukrainian people require help and support more than ever. We are certainly limited on what we can do to assist at this point but we are able to lend a hand collectively. This can be done by supporting charities and relief efforts, donating everyday essentials.

It is important for us to show our support for the brave people of Ukraine and to help in any way we can.  Nutley residents are searching for ways to support the Ukraine people during these unprecedented times.

The Holy Ascension Cathedral, Orthodox Church of Ukraine located at 635 Broad Street, Clifton is spearheading a collection of Humanitarian Aid Items for Ukraine.   A very specific list of items has been compiled by this organization.  To donate please visit the attached link and view current items needed “We support Ukraine and those of Ukrainian descent that live among us and the surrounding communities”.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the innocent people affected and pray for a peaceful resolution,” stated Mayor Mauro G. Tucci.

On behalf of The Nutley Board of Commissioners, I would encourage anyone who would like to help make a donation. Every little bit helps to provide necessities to those living in peril right now.  All items may be dropped off to Holy Ascension Cathedral directly this Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or at the Department of Parks and Recreation located at 44 Park Ave.

If you have any questions or need additional information please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 973-284-4966.
