FEMA Disaster Assistance Application Process

Essex County, including Nutley have been designated by FEMA as a major disaster area.
The declaration allows Essex County residents to register at www.disasterassistance.gov for direct assistance for Ida-related recovery, which may include home repairs, temporary housing, low-cost loans, and other programs to help recover from the effects of the tropical storm.
To apply for Federal (FEMA) Public Assistance Grant funding:
Registering for a Request for Public Assistance (RPA) is the first step in the application and reimbursement process. Applicants must use the FEMA Grants Portal to register, please navigate to https://grantee.fema.gov to create your RPA.
RPA must be submitted by October 5, 2021
