In the interest of providing the most current storm related information available please be advised of the following:
Governors Murphy’s office has advised Mayor Tucci that the President has approved an “emergency declaration” for our state, and we are hopeful that after FEMA does their assessment, we will receive a ‘major declaration”, which could unlock much more assistance such as: individual financial assistance, hazard mitigation funding, and reimbursement for a broader range of damages. FEMA has agreed to conduct an expedited review of our damages to support a major declaration. They are currently on the ground throughout the state and will continue to be in the coming days. The Red Cross also has a presence throughout the state and could be helpful. Furthermore, the Governor has allocated $10 million for businesses impacted by the storm. NJDOBI has helpful resources and is providing assistance in helping file insurance claims.
Please find various resources below which you may find helpful. Insurance claims should be filed as soon as possible. The sooner the insurance process starts; the sooner we can get on a path to recovery.
