Storm Damage Debris Pick Up

Commissioner Kelly and the Nutley Public Affairs and Health Department has arranged with Basso, Inc. for a special collection of Ida storm damaged debris on Labor Day Monday September 6, and Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Please be advised that Basso, Inc will be in town on Monday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 8, 2021 to pick up storm damage debris ONLY. Please separate all debris into designated piles of miscellaneous material (rugs, furniture, misc. items) and white goods (washer, dryer, refrigerator, water heaters, etc.).

If you have a contractor doing any type of clean up, the contractor is responsible for removing debris. If the cleanup consists of an entire basement, room, or house you will need to obtain your own container/dumpster.

This service is for TROPICAL STORM IDA DAMAGE DEBRIS ONLY. This is NOT an opportunity to put “Spring Cleaning” type trash out only storm damaged items. The Township will attempt to work with FEMA to get its expenses reimbursed. However, failing to follow these instructions will jeopardize the Township’s ability to obtain reimbursement from FEMA and the cost will have to be passed on to the taxpayers. As a result, please do not put out any regular bulk or household trash items that would normally be picked up on Wednesday Bulk Days or your regularly scheduled trash pickup day.
