As per the National Weather Service in New York, the Township of Nutley is currently under a Flash Flood Watch until Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2pm.

The remnants of Ida as a post-tropical low will approach the region today and will move near Long Island late tonight into early Thursday. A  widespread 3 to 6 inches of rain is forecast with locally higher amounts likely. This rainfall combined with wet antecedent conditions will likely lead to flash flooding.

  • Please avoid driving in or around the township during heavy wind and rain conditions.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads or enter any body of water.
  • Please DO NOT touch or go near downed wires as they should always be considered live.
