Project Advisory Notice

Mayor Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli, would like to notify residents of several upcoming roadway projects that may impact Township residents. This notification is in an effort to inform residents of the upcoming work so that alternate routes can be planned if needed and to maintain a level of safety within the community.

Beginning on or about August 7, 2017 and continuing through the end of year, PSE&G will be replacing gas mains throughout the Township of Nutley. The work will primarily occur in the section of Nutley between Kingsland Avenue, Nutley Avenue, Passaic Avenue and Washington Avenue. For more information on this project, please visit the PSE&G website at: https://www.pseg.com/family/pseandg/gsmp/nutley.jsp

During this period of time, the Township of Nutley will also be performing roadway reconstruction work on Harrison Street from Franklin Avenue to Bloomfield Avenue and at various other locations throughout the Township. Further notification will be provided to all areas affected by this work.

GENERAL ROADWAY ADVISORY INFORMATION

WORK HOURS: The work hours will be between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Street/Roadway may be closed during construction hours;
  • Due to nature of the work there may be delays as equipment is moved;
  • If posted, please follow all specified detour routes;
  • Traffic delays are expected – please plan alternate routes.

RESIDENT IMPACTS

  • Street closures during construction hours for vehicles;
  • Due to nature of the work there may be delays as equipment is moved;
  • Entry to Driveways and on-street parking will be limited;
  • Should a resident require the use of its vehicles during work hours, please use side streets for parking.
  • Contact the Nutley Police Department regarding overnight parking restrictions.

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  •   Pedestrian walkway access may be limited during construction period;
  •   We ask that when accessing these areas you use extreme caution.
