Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci is proud to announce that the Glotzbach Field re-turfing project is approaching completion and state of the art turf has replaced the existing 11 year old surface.  Fields, parks and green space are gems for our township, designed to enhance the experience for Nutley residents and all that visit our great community.  The completion of this project truly gives residents a completely renovated sports complex incorporating Glotzback Field, Msgr. Owens Field as well as the Recreation Department Building. The complex is utilized for everything from lacrosse to football, to summer camp and everything in between.

The majority of the cost of the design, permitting and construction of the improvements for Father Gltozbach Park were supported by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program.  The balance is covered by township capital funds and a low interest loan.

With an ever growing list of recreational options for residents to enjoy this top-notch synthetic turf field is huge component for expanding year round use of our facilities. Recreation is a major piece of the puzzle for the Township of Nutley.  We pride ourselves on providing fun, safe outlets for everyone to enjoy. The renovation of these complexes has allowed Nutley to host a significantly wider range of sporting activities.

We are committed to promoting quality programs and events of the highest standards to keep our community connected.  Our mission is to promote the continued well being, safety and health of our community through the administration and coordination of township recreational programs, leisure activities and special events and evolve with the needs of our sports community.
