Nutley to Celebrate Juneteenth with Food, Music, and Cultural Reflection at The Oakley Kitchen
Mayor John V. Kelly III, The Department of Public Affairs and Health, in partnership with the Nutley Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Council, invites all residents to a vibrant community celebration in honor of Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Oakley Kitchen, located at 789 Bloomfield Avenue Nutley, NJ 07110.
This festive evening will feature extended Happy Hour pricing, free tastings, and live music by the dynamic Musician House Band. Guests will enjoy a specially curated Juneteenth menu that highlights traditional “red foods” symbolic of the occasion, along with signature cocktails and desserts crafted just for the celebration.
In addition to food and music, the evening will offer raffles, giveaways, prizes and barbecue specials. A highlight of the event will be a special presentation by a representative of Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, who will share the inspiring story of Nathan “Nearest” Green, America’s first known African American master distiller. Guests will have the opportunity to sample Uncle Nearest bourbon and learn about its deep roots in American history.
This Juneteenth celebration is more than an evening out — it is a meaningful opportunity for the Nutley community of all ages to come together in recognition of freedom and heritage through food, music, and storytelling.
