Kingsland Manor to celebrate National Preservation Week with Live Broadcast of the Antique Phonograph Music Program

Michael “MAC” Cumella will do a live broadcast of his radio program, The Antique Phonograph Music Program, from the Kingsland Manor on Tuesday, April 26th as a benefit to the fundraising activities of the Historic Restoration Trust of Nutley. Michael Cumella, a native of Nutley, broadcasts a weekly radio show playing old 78 records and cylinders of the golden age of Jazz on WFMU each Tuesday from 8 until 9. He uses the original phonograph equipment to capture the sound and feel of the Jazz Age. The event will celebrate the Manor’s support of National Preservation Week April 24th – 30th.

The Kingsland Manor is on the corner of Kingsland Street and Lakeside Drive. The public is welcome to attend the broadcast. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and will go until 9 p.m. with MAC giving an informal lecture on the music of that era. Admission will be by donation and light refreshments will be served. All you audiophiles, who want to enjoy something unique, mark your calendars, save the date and come the Manor for a rollicking good time. Dressing up in “Roarin’ Twenties” period costumes is optional.
