Memorial Garden will be dedicated on April 23, 2017, at 1:00 PM.  All are invited.

            Since 2003, the Nutley Thriving Survivors, Inc., has been supporting women who live or work in Nutley who have battled breast cancer.  Food certificates and gift cards are sent to homes of women undergoing treatment, transportation is provided if needed, mammograms are paid for women without insurance or just a friendly ear to listen or offer comfort. 

            Our signature events are an evening Candlelight Celebration Walk though Nutley Parks and a Celebratory Brunch offered free of charge to survivors and one guest.  Our annual golf outing raises funds for the walk and brunch, and for the services provided.

            Over the past 15 years, we have made our presence known in Nutley and beyond.  Unfortunately, we have lost many women as well.  To honor those brave women, the Nutley Thriving Survivors, Inc., is building a Memorial Garden along Vincent Place.  The county of Essex has graciously allowed us to use this unused land.  Money to fund this project is coming from donations sent to Nutley Thriving Survivors, Inc. in the name of those who have lost their battle with breast cancer, as well as an allotment from our treasury.

Around the garden itself are pavers that can be engraved with the names of women who have passed away.  We invite anyone who wishes to have their loved one memorialized to send us the name they want engraved and a donation of $100.  Two trees in the background have already been claimed for dedication.   Engraving completed by the dedication cannot be promised, but upon completion, the family will be notified.
