Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci has opened registration for the 2013 Lacrosse Season.  Lacrosse is considered one of the fastest growing team sports in the U.S.  This exhilarating sport combines basketball, soccer and hockey all in one.  But maybe the best incentive to join is that there is no prior experience necessary to participate in this growing sport. “Along with learning the basic fundamentals of the sport you will also begin to develop speed, coordination and agility” states Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci.

This program is open to Nutley Residents in grades 3 through 8.  The Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation will be holding a meeting/registration on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, 7:00p.m. at the Recreation Department (Room 300), 44 Park Ave.

Program Director and Head Coach Cory Slicklen played at St. John’s University (Division 1) where he played mostly attack.  He grew up on Long Island, NY and played with some of the best players in the world. He has also played on several select teams, throughout the years.

Cory has been running the Nutley Recreation Lacrosse Program since its inception, 25 years ago. He has several other great head coaches and seasoned assistants, as well.

Youngsters interested in participating must provide their own certified helmet, stick and mouth guard.    A fee of $100.00 per person will be payable at the time of registration or online at www.NutleyNj.org. This fee includes a practice jersey and $40.00 refundable equipment deposit.

If you would like further information please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at (973)284-4966, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
