Mayor Tucci Helps Prepare Youngsters for Kindergarten with Recreation Pre-K Program

Mayor Mauro G. Tucci invites youngsters who are eligible to enter kindergarten this September to participate in our Summer Pre-K Recreation Program which is designed to introduce youngsters to a school atmosphere. Our educational goals will be to prepare children for their first year in school. Certified teachers with elementary and kindergarten experience will work with the children and supervise activities at all times.  The program will combine the indoor/outdoor facilities, kindergarten classrooms and the gymnasium at Lincoln School.

This program is a great introduction to the basic hands-on curriculum of early education.  Children’s skills as they enter school at the kindergarten level are proven to have a significant impact on their later achievements.  We believe this program will contribute to maximizing a child’s learning potential at this stage. “This program allows children to become familiarized with a new environment in a gradual process and become prepared for that exciting first day of school” states Mayor Mauro G. Tucci. The Pre K-Program is such a wonderful time of growth and development and we are extremely excited about offering this program as one of our selections for the community. The curriculum of this program will cover all the necessary readiness standards to successfully and confidently enter your kindergartener in the fall.

Applications for this program will be available during kindergarten registration or at the Recreation Department.  Forms must be turned in no later than June 15, 2012 .  The fee for this program will be $65.00 per child.  Please make checks payable to Township of Nutley/Pre K Program.
