Art Workshop classes will resume for a winter session beginning February 6, 2010. “This exciting program enables children ranging from grades 1 through 6 the opportunity to flourish by stimulating their creative spirit” states Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci. Throughout this program youngsters will explore and enjoy the positive impact art history has in their lives.
Art can play an effective role in contributing to the intellectual, emotional and aesthetic life of children. Miss Karen DeRose assists children in observing objects in a peculiar way and uniquely express their vision through their own art form. Art has proven to keep children in school, provide motivation, and help children better understand the world in which they live in. Parents must be equipped with the tools to expose their children to the arts. The Nutley Recreation Art Class is the perfect component to motivate youngsters minds and allow them to explore paintings as an art historian would.
Classes will be held on Saturdays and will continue for 10 weeks. The Nutley Parks & Recreation Department will begin accepting registration forms January 4, 2010 for the Art Workshop at 44 Park Ave. Online registration will also be available at www.nutleynj.org. Please note that class size is limited and applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The goals of this department include continuing to provide top quality, affordable activities for all ages. Children excel through recreational activities.
The Registration Fee for this class is $30.00 per child. If you are interested in this or any other recreation program, please contact our office at (973)284-4966, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
