Sizzling Summer Celebration set for August 2, 2006

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci has planned a sizzling, music-filled outdoor event to help celebrate summer. Escape those lazy, hazy, days of summer with this cool outdoor concert presented by the Nutley Department of Parks & Recreation . Two spectacular performers have been scheduled to delight audiences of all ages. “Kid Kyle & his Kool Kats” will open the evenings festivities. This 11 year old singing sensation has been dazzling audiences with his authentic renditions of the best sounds of doo-wap. Oldies come alive with this fresh, exciting act. He has recently appeared on The Tony Danza show and Channel 4 News “Live at Five”.

The next act will keep you moving and grooving all night long!! “Total Soul” is an 11 piece Motown, R&B, Soul and Classic Disco group that will be performing songs of the great artists from the sixties through today. The music is brought to life with a mix of four part vocal harmony, a soul driven rhythm section and “Hot, Hot, Hot” horn. “This concert will include a little bit of everything from the classics to the popular, to entertain residents of all ages” stated Commissioner Tucci.

In the spirit of summertime relaxation, this special summer performance emphasizes family recreation in an outdoor setting offering fabulous food by Nutley’s own Jim Dandy’s. The smell of Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Sausage, Wings, Ribs, Zeopples, Lemon Ice and more will fill the air. Children can get their faces painted, a caricature drawn or a balloon sculpture while the adults sit back relax and enjoy a tropical cocktail from the tiki hut. Concert admission is free and food items are available for purchase.
