Governor to March in Memorial Day Parade

Nutley, - Mayor Joanne Cocchiola announced today plans for Governor Corzine to be a distinguished guest at this year’s Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday, May 29 at 11am. Governor Corzine will address the crowd and march with Mayor Cocchiola and our Township’s Board of Commisioners.

“I am honored that Governor Corzine will be here to celebrate our war heroes,” commented Mayor Joanne Cocchiola. “Our veterans have contributed so much to our community, and it’s a wonderful way to recognize them,” the Mayor added.

The parade will start immediately following a ceremony at 11:00am in the Nutley Park Oval.

The parade’s route is the same as years past, traveling up to Passaic Avenue, continuing to Centre Street on to Franklin Avenue. The parade concludes back at the Oval. The Army National Guard will join us this year, as well as several military vehicles. We also have several local civic organizations, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops participating this year.
