Memorial Day Parade Scheduled for Monday, May 29th
Nutley, NJ - Mayor Joanne Cocchiola, the Board of Commissioners and the Veteran’s
Council announced today the Township’s plans for the annual Memorial Day Parade
scheduled for Monday, May 29 at 11am.
“The Parade’s purpose is to honor our war
heroes – those who fought for our liberties,” commented Mayor Cocchiola. “We are
lucky to have many heroes and their families living right here in Nutley. I encourage
everyone to come out and show their support by participating,” the Mayor added.
The parade will start immediately following a brief ceremony at 11:00am in the Nutley
Park Oval. The parade’s route is the same as years past, traveling up Chestnut to
Passaic Avenue, continuing to Centre Street on to Franklin Avenue. The parade concludes
back at the Oval.
There are several civic organizations, as well as local Boy Scout
and Girl Scout Troops participating this year.
If you would like to participate
in the parade, please contact Mayor Cocchiola’s office at 973-284-4900, Ext. 2424.
