Nutley High School Students Named in Scholarship Competition
Nutley, New Jersey – Nutley High School Senior Marissa Ryder was named State Semi-Finalist in the New Jersey League of Municipalities Louis Bay II Scholarship Competition. The purpose of the scholarship is to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer positions in municipal government. Ms. Ryder’s essay was chosen by a panel of local judges and was submitted as Nutley’s municipal entry to the League. Ms. Ryder’s essay is now eligible for a $1,000 scholarship if her essay is selected.
Ms. Ryder was invited to attend last week’s Board of Commissioners Meeting where she was formally congratulated by the Commissioners and presented with a framed resolution. Also in attendance, and presented with framed resolutions, were Nutley High School Seniors Morgan Tiene and Salvatore Tolve who were both named Runners Up.
Forty three New Jersey municipalities participated; three (3) winners will be announced during the first week of May.
