Nutley Youth Book Fair on Saturday, May 6

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci is proud to announce the 2006 Nutley Youth Book Fair on Saturday, May 6. The event will be held at the Parks Department gymnasium at 44 Park Avenue from 9 am to 6 pm.

Over 200 children’s book titles will be available for purchase at discounted prices. Borders Books and Music will donate 10 percent of all proceeds for Nutley youth recreation activities.

Children grades K-6 are encouraged to attend to select books and participate in several free activities. The book fair will feature several story time read-alongs, a crafts table for making personalized bookmarks, face painting and special appearances by the Cat in the Hat.

The Cat in the Hat will host story time read-alongs at 10 am, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.

“This is an opportunity for our kids to grow their love of reading,” said Commissioner Tucci. “Both children and parents can share time and ideas together.”

Coffee and refreshments will be distributed to all attendees courtesy of the Parks Department.
