The CARE Committee was established in 2000 by Commissioner, now Mayor, Joanne Cocchiola, as a collaborative effort between the Nutley Red Cross, the Nutley Family Service Bureau and the Department of Public Affairs. The committee includes participants from local agencies, county health care professionals and the Nutley Clergy Association with the goal of helping those in need in our community.
Participants execute a confidentiality agreement to protect the identity of the committtee's clients. The group provides assistance with a variety of problems ranging from financial assistance and housing to participating in the Holiday Treasure Chest, which provides gifts to those in need at holiday times.
The CARE committee has published a Directory of Senior Citizen’s Services, and copies are available at the Department of Public Affairs, 149 Chestnut Street. To request a copy of a Directory, email Ltravers@Nutleynj.org
